Samantha has been working in overweight and obesity research, specifically with underserved communities in medicine, for the past few years.  She graduated from the University of Minnesota with a Bachelors in Health Sciences, and will have a Masters in Healthcare Innovation from Arizona State University in the summer of 2014, with plans to continue with her doctoral degree.  Currently, her projects include a health intervention with homeless trafficked female adolescents, physical activity additions to the traditional school classroom to improve academic and behavioral outcomes, and designing a scalable healthy living intervention for college-age students to reduce the risk of diabetes.
